Upper School - Program Description

In a supportive and encouraging student/faculty culture, students in the 7th -12th grades, or Upper School, form unique student/teacher relationships. Students will find their teachers accessible and easily approachable, and that the small class sizes allow teachers to accommodate their unique personality and learning style.

To further encourage our students to take advantage of the opportunities Doane Academy has to offer, each Upper School student is assigned an advisor. Acting as both mentors and academic advocates, the advisors build relationships with students to nurture their educational and social well-being as well as make sure each advisee is making progress in the college preparation process.

The Upper School schedule is different for each student, allowing them to take courses based on their ability in each subject. All academic departments offer general college prep courses, many offer Honor and AP options or individual courses.

See below for an idea of an Upper School student schedule. For any question regarding the Upper School program, please contact Assistant Headmaster, Mr. Tim Sadar, tsadar@doaneacademy.org, Dean of Academics, Dr. Pamela McCormick, pmccormick@doaneacademy.org or Dean of Upper School Dr. James Paradis, jparadis@doaneacademy.org.
