  • Approximately 200 students grades Pre-K to 12.
  • Tuition for 2011-2012 ranges from $10,500 to $16,100, dependent on grade level.
  • Member of National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), Association of Delaware Valley Independent Schools (ADVIS) and the National Association of Episcopal Schools (NAES).

HISTORY AT-A-GLANCE (Full history here)

  • 1837. St. Mary's Hall was founded by the Second Episcopal Bishop of New Jersey, George Washington
    Doane
    as an all-girls boarding school.
  • In the 1950s, St. Mary's Hall becomes a country day school, with boys able to attend at the lower school level.
  • 1966. Doane Academy, a partner all-boys school opens. St. Mary's Hall and Doane Academy merge in the 1970s.
  • 2000. Current Headmaster John McGee joins the school.
  • 2002. School re-joins the Penn-Jersey athletic league.
  • 2008. St.Mary's Hall-Doane Academy becomes Doane Academy.
  • 2010-2011. Girls soccer wins Penn-Jersey title. All 25 Seniors go on to college or university, among them The American University, The Air Force Academy and LIM College, having been offered $4.2 million in merit scholarships from over 170 schools.
