How to Apply in 4 Steps

Doane Academy seeks to provide each prospective family ample opportunity to develop a genuine understanding of the School and its unique mission. Likewise, we hope to get to know each applicant and family for their distinct gifts and qualities. Below is a breakdown of the Admissions process.

Step 1 - Inquire

  • Please complete the online Inquiry Form to receive information about Doane Academy.
  • If you wish to receive a Viewbook, they are available on campus or by mail per your request.

Step 2 - Visit

  • Plan to attend an Open House or schedule a visit to tour Doane Academy. Click here to RSVP to an Open House. To schedule a tour, please call the Office of Admission at (609)386-3500 or email lhall@doaneacademy.org.
  • All Lower School applicants must complete a class visit, which can be conducted during the campus tour. All class visits should be completed by the Admission deadline: January 15.

Step 3 - Application

Doane Academy uses the SSAT Standard Application Online (SAO). All applications and supplemental materials should be submitted by the Admission deadline: January 15.

The application includes:

  • Student Bio
  • Transcript
  • Teacher Recommendation and Principal Recommendation
  • Parent Questionnaire

Step 4 - Assessment

*Schedule the appropriate test for your child’s grade level.

Primary - 2nd Grade

Applicants should call the Office of Admission to schedule an Early Education Admissions Exam at Doane Academy.

3rd Grade - 5th Grade

Applicants should register for the SSAT exam administered at an SSAT testing location.
To complete the SSAT before the January 15 deadline, register for one of the following dates:
  • December 8
  • January 5
  • February 2
  • March 2
  • April 27
