Community Service
Community Service initiatives were created as part of Doane Academy's commitment to its Episcopal tradition and the belief that one grows in service to others.
Service projects provide an arena for students to learn about themselves, while learning the importance of helping others. All students share and discover their interests and talents with others through service opportunities woven into the Lead Onward Program; and the Rocks, Roots and Wings trips; as well as schoolwide Days of Service. Through this strong institutional commitment, students learn that an action, no matter how small, can be significant. All community service opportunities serve the same purpose in teaching our students lessons about humility, compassion, patience, understanding, and the joy of giving. Our hope is that through volunteering, students will gain a sense of maturity, responsibility, and acquire a life-long commitment to service to others.
